Lunch was:
oyster sauce hot chiky
overcooked prawns
too salty kailan.
This was the very first time we attempted serious cooking and indoor dining. Unfortunately, my papa was at home, so my lil lamb was nervous. It was a semi-disaster.
First was the chicken, what mehz did was to fry it with ginger and chilli and oyster sauce. However, it was his first time using the wok and the stove, so the fire wasnt very well controlled, so everything (ginger and chilli and that brown brown stuff) got stuck on the wok and we had a hard time scrubbing it out later. Not only that, think the chilli a bit too much, so it was pretty hot. (and my sis don take chilii)
Then it was the prawns. Mehz did the deshelling and the deveining. Then puddy put them into the rice cooker. However, from young puddy has never timed the cooking and will open up only when rice is ready to be scooped and table is set. Therefore it was left in there for a long time, and according to mehz, it was overcooked.
That wasnt the last of our troubles. Puddy always go CJ see the veggie got copious amts of oyster sauce, so I just poured all that mehz brought from barn onto the boiled veggies the way i see them done in restaurants. Ended up it was too salty and my sis hiam and hiam.
After all the hassle and worrying of the hiammie people, mehz suddenly realise his sub-totters hurt. Must be he nervous, when he open the wok cover, his fingers touched the hot metal and din realise. End up the whole of the remaining day, he kept taking my epilator ice pack to cool his burnt totters.
A few months later, i found out from my papa that the wok costed $199. When i told mehz, he say he don dare to use it anymore!
