Today we invited damsie to have dinner with us. Mehmeh said that presentation must be nice, so puddy digged out 3 nice western food plates to use.
First off is the butter rice, a search on the internet shows not a lot of people cook this, so I just trusted one of the 2 recipe. I was wary about the amount of water, but it turned out quite fragrant and suitably textured . Though I would think it needs more butter, but lil lamb says it's just nice.
The veggies broccoli & corn (yes, always the less main dishy) were microwaved by puddy; Then the lil lamb read somewhere that when baking fish, having a bed of herbs underneath will prevent the fish from sticking to the pan and so he decides to do that to the frying pan by laying a bed onions for the salmon to lie on. It worked! The fish didn't stick. But the onion underneath did.
The chicky is as usual, tough. Next time must get drumsticks instead of the cheapo fillet which is so tough that kenna hiammie by the glutton puddy. Second time in a row she hiammed that the chicky is tough(first time was last week at igloo)! The marinate is also not quite there yet considering the chicky was only dunk in for an hour. But all in all, it's a yum yum and filling meal!
A lil teriyaki chicky sauce on the rice, and that completes this meal. (except for the soupie, which was very salty even though i followed the can instructions. Maybe cos it's expiring!)
Who washed the dishy? Damsie....thanks!!
