Hello everybody, this postis by me STEAKII! again. As usual, the piggies woke up 2 hrs late.....but lucky causeway is smooth, and steakii has stopped hiding from police at customs liao...because they cant find the selamat hari raya anyway so i think they wont catch me.....I'm so happy that we brought niap niap back into malaysia!! *Hiak hiak hiak*
Mama the hungry pig stomach start growling about 100km from Melaka. Finally found a R&R about 60km away from Melaka for papa to peee and look at directions, while mama indulged in a very nan-chi Mee Soto. She also bought some boredom-killer foodie for papa - his fav wu hu guo.
3 hours from set off - Here we are!!!
After turning into some confusing roads in the melaka city, we rest moo moo in a private car park for RM5 and decided to use our totters to move around. (hee actually steakii got baba carrier - a plastic baggie, so no need to ownself bounce). Mama force me to take photo with that niap niap la! *kicks* ....

We were actually looking for chicky rice balls....but according to the carpark attendant...its straight down...so we headed straight down, and came to some attraction. So we took a photo on the way.
It's actually the independence memorial. Think can visit, but my lil woollly stomach was starving...
We had no idea what this is, papa and mama call it the fort, and til now they still dono what it is actually and they don't really care coz they were there for the foodie. Mama smile so nice here but actually because it was scorching sun she was getting grouchy already. Hungry + hot + thirsty = my grouchy mama
Some stone in the middle of nowhere....depicting the birth of melaka.

Yay, finally we reach the streets that sell foodie!!! On the left of the photo is "no. 1 kopitiam". Mama has tottered there seeing the Q of people. Yuan lai they are getting the chendol. It's quite ex actually...RM2.80 for a small cup. But luckily we got it because....
....Papa was Q-ing for chicky rice ball right across the street.
On the way here in moo moo, we also saw another chicky rice ball shop Famosa, but because it looks expensive, papa say must find those old old shops. Then walking along the river bridge, mama recognise the shop that is famous, called Chung Wah. It must be good la, because the Q is longer than here, and the thing is.....the lline snakes out in the sun, and people don't mind, they just stand there (some with umbrellas). And when we left this part to go back to moo moo in late afternoon, they are already closed. Earn enough liao.
Anyway, this stall that we are Q-ing at , the Q-ing area is sheltered and has fan summore. It's called Hoe Kee, and they seem to only sell chicken, rice balls, cabbage and soups.

We are hungry and waiting for chicky rice balls....the liang teh is only RM1.20 and very light and nice.
The place shld be a family run biz...coz all the servers look like each other ie. siblings/cousins. The one coordinating is the 3rd auntie bah....coz the girls call her "san yi" and I also heard one call her "san jie" and the girls had names like mei hwa and yen hwa. This 3rd auntie is quite efficient, she got us a seat fast and also manage to get a group of 22 comfortably seated in no time.

Waited a while for the rice balls. Fragrant and mian2 mian2 one...a tad of charcoal-y taste. So yummy that mama say she can still remember how it tastes!!
This is the famous Jonker Walk (jln hang jebat), which is the street that is bustling with the most activity (and cars!).
There are shops selling antiks (old cupboard cost few k RM - too expensive for steakii to zzzz in ), crafts (ke-tok tourists kind), accesories & clothing (mama say most of them are expensive la! papa & mama saw cute T-shirts that costs RM 55 for 2!).
Erected across the streets are these huge sigboards but we were not too interested in knowing what they say.
Actually is just aimless walking around, coz we were pretty full after chicky rice balls. But papa took a photo of every shopfront that spells FOODIE, and will of coz totter in to find his preserved mangos and other goooddddie fooodie.

Like dotted along the streets are shops that sell tau sa piah, ma ti su, pineapple tarts and other baked stuff. Most shops go by the people's name eg "christina lee" and have an oven right outside the shop where they do "live" baking so steakii can bounce over and eat them all up fresh out of the oven. yummmmy
We walked past some temple so papa snapped a photo of me and niap niap.

Mama pretending to look at heritage trail, but she was actually trying to find the road that contains all the peranakan foodie.
Cheng Hoon Teng temple (we guessed so because the signboard in the previous picture was beside it)
Down the street. some mosque. Worship me?? Uh-oh...mama say wrong race la!
Papa has been taking photos of shops that is associated with Foodie. Either is those tau sa piah shops that sell package food, or coffeeshops/resturants like this. Btw, all these shops always got Q one!! Even at 4+pm people are still eating assam laksa here!!
People eat, steakii also eat!!! Papa chope seat while this time mama Q!~

Papa had a icekacang while mama again eat chendol. Haha. The difference in here chendol and icekacang from other place is they have this pot of melted thick gula melaka which they will turn turn with a ladle and drizzle a thin strip all over the ice.
We went back to the other zone . The red red buildings. There were people everywhere taking photos, and we took a seat by the fountain and did the same too! After this photo, papa decided to totter elsewhere to sit because everyone keep asking him to take photo for them!! And all not pretty girls!~
We moved further down where there were seats facing nowhere It was no longer sunny as evening approaches. Behind is the place where we started from , the fort area. This place is just for people to sit sit around, and for trishaws to travel on the road behind. Papa carried me and niap niap while grouchy mama took a rest.
Papa was trying to capture the trishaw behind. A bit ex at RM 40 per hour. Their trishaws were all decorated with yummy flowers, and the umbrella is also flowered. Some even replaced the umbrella with some dove shaped flower structure.Malacca is just a small town, about few streets of shophouses (Jonker area) and then center is the historical area (fort, red buildings, other historical buildings) and then more streets of shophouses leading out to NS highway. At these outer streets there are nicer hotels and shopping centres (with carrefour somemore!)
*bounce bounce* I found a hugeeeeeeeee grassland!!
We were tottering back to moo moo when mama saw , at a directional signboard at a roundabout the name "Taman Melaka raya", which signifies.....Nonya Foodie!!! Mama has been looking out for this street since the chicky rice ball, but her map (seen in a small hp screen) did not indicate. And the other Nonya restuarnt near Jonker was closed. Mama pestered papa to go look for foodie, then realised that this tamade street is actually made up of many small streets, all with same name. Somehow her glutton stomach lead her down the right street to the right shop.

Therefore we had yummy Nonya foodie. The 1st two we passed by had nobody, even though it was 6+. This restoran has a door that is opaque, but someone came out and we can look in and saw that had a few tables of people eating inside. After we went in to eat, people started streaming in and in no time it was full house!!! Wah, mama really know how to choose!! A search on google later showed that this resturant "Nonya Makko" is one of the recommended.
Papa loved the pong teh chicky, but mama thot is a bit salty. She loved the lady finger in the assam fishy dish! As for steakii...I love all foodie!!! *niap niap foodie love niap niap foodie love....*

After the dinner it is time to go home. Already 7 and mama scared go back too late will jam at causeway. So we were packed into the moomoo.
Dumbass niap niap don't know we not going KL! Still keep looking for sign of KL. We going back to cupboard la!
Along the way the radio say the chinese singer called "yoghurt", so now steakii no longer called "kaya", now my name is "milk!"!!!
After this photo there were no more photos becoz mama & me fell asleep while papa happily made moo moo scamper at 140km/h. As for niap niap...she just keep looking out of the windscreen at i-dono-what! *kicks...*
